CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, recently announced their ‘100 People You Don’t Know But Should’ list for 2022. Barracuda MSP is honored to share that one of our very own, David Kern, Regional Manager of Partner Success, earned a well-deserved recognition on the list.
For those who might not be familiar, this annually released list honors the IT channel’s unsung heroes who support channel partners while rarely stepping into the spotlight. Since joining Barracuda MSP in March of 2015, David has made many significant contributions to the organization and its partners. Over the last seven (+) years, David has dedicated his efforts to ensuring MSP partners’ success, demonstrating a remarkable passion for educating and enabling partners.
Meet David Kern – a true champion of MSP success
Managing over 1,000 MSP partner relationships, David works closely with various functional departments internally, as well as MSPs themselves to provide the support an MSP partner requires to be successful in their market.
On the importance of partnerships, David had this to say: “Whether it’s a 1 person MSP shop, or 100 person MSP, they need the same care from vendors that they partner with. I enjoy building out customized approaches that add the most value for the individual partner, and I am happy to work alongside them to determine what that looks like and then to help them execute. One of the things that is most rewarding for me is being able to contribute to their successful adoption of security solutions and services that truly empower them to secure their customers, while growing their businesses.”
Making success scalable
Throughout David’s time at Barracuda, he has also overseen management of relationships with MSP franchise organizations, which includes supporting a base of more than 180 businesses from one organization. He has worked closely with those businesses to provide a forum for franchise-to-franchise sharing of what works, what doesn’t, and helping to amplify the learning from those experiences to bolster future success for that organization. Further, on the topic of scale, David is a strong advocate and evangelist for partners when it comes to helping them take advantage of the resources available to them at their disposal to drive growth – whether those are rebrandable marketing materials, partner-exclusive end-user assessment and sales tools, or even just taking advantage our community and discussion forum.
