Q: What are some of the cost-effective ways for MSPs to market to their target audience? 

Nate shared the following cost-effective methods to improving your inbound marketing strategy:

Focus your advertising efforts: Advertise where your target audience spends their time. This might be on niche forums like Reddit’s MSP groups, professional networks like LinkedIn, or industry sites like Clutch.co. Platforms like TikTok and Snapchat can also be useful if you’re targeting younger audiences. By focusing your ads on the right places, you can reach your audience effectively and save money. 

Leverage retargeting: Use retargeting ads on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn. These ads show up for people who have already visited your website, keeping your brand in mind. Since these people are already interested, retargeting ads are usually affordable and easy to set up. 

Build email lists: Offer valuable content on your website, like a free “MSP Marketing Master Class,” to collect their information. Add them to your email list for ongoing engagement and follow-ups. 

Q: Has SEO become obsolete with the surge of AI? 

SEO is not becoming obsolete, but it is changing. In the past, SEO was mainly about creating a few pieces of content each month and optimizing for specific keywords. Now, with AI technology advancing, competition becomes fiercer, and expectations are higher. 

Today, large companies are producing hundreds of pieces of content each month to stay competitive. AI tools help with content creation but haven’t completely replaced human writers yet. Also, Google’s new tool, Gemini, which provides answers and integrates various ranking factors, will affect how SEO is measured. Businesses will need to adapt their strategies to perform well in this evolving AI-driven landscape. 

Q: What is the required number of visitors to be eligible for retargeting on platforms like LinkedIn or Google? 

Yes, most platforms require a minimum number of visitors—often 100 or 200—before you can retarget them effectively. To reach this threshold, you might run a low-cost ad campaign to attract more visitors to your site. Even ads that generate casual or accidental clicks can help you meet the minimum visitor count. 

For email retargeting, there’s usually no minimum visitor requirement. You can use visitor tracking tools to reach out to anyone who has engaged with your site, making it easier to connect with your audience even if your website traffic is low.
