MSP Day 2022 took place on Friday May 20, and it was full of informative sessions featuring industry thought leaders from around the globe. While the event was hosted by Barracuda MSP, we were also joined by CompTIA as a strategic sponsor, eChannelNEWS, and IT Business Growth Expert Richard Tubb.

This was the fifth annual celebration, and we were joined by over 250 MSPs from 25 different countries, across six continents. It truly was a worldwide celebration.

Insightful sessions with our guest speakers

Several industry leaders hosted sessions during Global MSP Day, where they identified numerous growth opportunities for MSP businesses to profit from in the year ahead. The day began with Neal Bradbury, SVP of Barracuda, who welcomed everyone to the celebration. Following him was Jason Howells, VP of International Sales, Barracuda MSP, and Julian Lee of eChannelNEWS, who discussed key findings from our annual The Evolving Landscape of the MSP Business 2022 report, along with the state of the industry today. Wayne Selk from CompTIA share his thoughts and advice on why service providers need to refocus on the first two pillars of cybersecurity rather than the technology pillar.

The second half of the event included an MSP health check with IT and MSP expert Richard Tubb as he offered his view on the future of managed services and shared insight into some challenges that MSPs around the globe have had to overcome. Julian Lee concluded the celebration by sharing thoughts on ways to growing MSP business in 2022, as well as some advice as we all enter the new ecosystem from a partner perspective.

MSP Business Report highlights

The annual “The Evolving Landscape of the MSP Business Report” which highlighted challenges, opportunities, and trends that MSPs will be faced with in the year ahead was launched in conjunction with MSP Day. We spoke to 500 decision makers and knowledge workers from managed service provider (MSP) organisations from countries across the North America, EMEA and ANZ regions.

Some of the key highlights from the report included:

  • Business confidence is on the rise post-pandemic. A total of 95% of respondents felt they had settled into their new ways of working and felt in a stronger position compared to 2021.
  • 80% of respondents believed their customers are increasingly concerned about the possibility of being breached by cybercriminals and are turning to MSPs for help.
  • Despite challenges, MSPs expect revenues to grow by over a third in 2022 with revenues predicted at $12.12 million this year, compared to $8.93 million in 2021.

We hope those who attended the celebration enjoyed the content we shared. For those who couldn’t attend, you can still download and read the Evolving Landscape of the MSP Business Report to learn more about what your peers are seeing in their markets.

On top of the report, we also shared additional assets such as 5 Opportunities for MSPs in 2022 eBook, Conversational Email Security for MSPs eBook, and much more. You can browse through all the resources that Barracuda MSP has to offer here.

We look forward to seeing MSPs at next year’s Global MSP Day event, and at other events along the way!
