From our sponsorIt’s an exciting week for the managed service provider (MSP) community – Global MSP Day 2023 is tomorrow! On June 1st, we’ll be celebrating, networking, and learning alongside MSPs around the world. This day would not be possible without the support of our sponsors, CompTIA, Richard Tubb, CyberQP, and Channel Program. We are especially pleased to have the opportunity to sit down with our guest speakers of the virtual event, Wayne Selk of CompTIA and Richard Tubb.

To prepare for the celebration, we asked CompTIA and Richard Tubb to share their thoughts on what this day truly means, why they chose to get involved, and what their excited for most.

What does Global MSP Day mean to you?

CompTIA: CompTIA is proud to participate in Global MSP Day again to help the industry celebrate one of the most important parts of the channel ecosystem, the managed service provider. Global MSP Day recognizes the contribution these companies are making and their role on the frontline with end users. Global MSP Day also brings the channel together to learn, share ideas and network, as well as help each other build a stronger industry together.

Richard Tubb: Global MSP Day is an opportunity to celebrate the hard work that MSPs do to support the business community. MSPs bring it every day, and every week, rarely stopping to appreciate what they are doing to help others. I think Global MSP Day is the perfect reminder that yes, we make a difference to our clients, and yes, that should be celebrated!

What motivated you to get involved with Global MSP Day?

CompTIA: CompTIA has been a supporter of Global MSP Day for several years. The CompTIA Community is one of largest MSP communities spanning five global regions and growing. MSPs have always been at the forefront of what we do to serve the industry by inspiring innovation and building technology businesses. By coming together and providing resources to help MSPs improve their businesses, we help to make the industry stronger and more resilient to the many challenges it faces.

Richard Tubb: When I used to run an MSP business (I sold my business in 2012), the Managed Service community was a huge part of the reason behind the acceleration of my growth. The MSP Community is rare and special in that peers help one another and give of their time and experience to help each other. I see my involvement in Global MSP Day as a way of giving back to the community which has given me so much.

What part(s) of the event are you looking forward to most?

CompTIA: I am looking forward to hearing the great content that is always on offer as part of Global MSP Day, all aimed at helping MSPs with their business success. CompTIA’s very own Wayne Selk, vice president of cybersecurity programs, will be delivering a session on “How to Lead with Cybersecurity,” and Wayne’s sessions are always very informative and insightful. Another highlight is the networking sessions taking place around the world and Sameera Deen, senior specialist of member relations with CompTIA, will be joining the one in Utrecht, Netherlands to help celebrate with MSPs there.

Richard Tubb: I’m looking forward to hosting the in-person meetup in London! It’ll be very informal, relaxed, and a great opportunity to be amongst my peers, talk, laugh and enjoy their company!
